Zeishan Quadri, known for his raw storytelling and powerful performances, is best remembered for his amazing work in Gangs of Wasseypur. Born in 1983 in Wasseypur, Zeishan went on to co-write the screenplay of the cult crime saga that redefined Bollywood’s take on realism. Since his breakthrough, Zeishan has taken on many roles behind and in front of the camera. He directed and produced Meeruthiya Gangsters, co-wrote Prague, and delivered notable acting performances in films like Revolver Rani, Hotel Milan, Chhalaang, Halahal, Bloody Daddy, and Woh Bhi Din The. Beyond films, Zeishan has frequently appeared on television interviews and talk shows where he often speaks about his creative process, his Wasseypur roots, and how personal experiences shaped the authenticity of his writing. His candid nature and unfiltered honesty have made him a popular guest, as he isn’t afraid to discuss both the highs and lows of the industry.
The actor has also been candid about the challenges he’s faced, including regretting not negotiating royalties and how working through controversies impacted both his mental state and his career.
Zeishan has also been vocal about the evolution of Hindi cinema, often stressing the importance of strong scripts over star power. On multiple platforms, he has urged young writers and filmmakers to focus on originality and real storytelling rather than chasing trends.
