New Delhi: The second season of Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025 caught the limelight with the blistering knocks of India’s wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson. But now a local player, Salman Nizar, displayed a sensational show during the match between Calicut and Trivandrum at the Greenfield Cricket Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on August 30, Saturday.
Nizar’s power-hitting finish against Trivandrum stunned fans as he smashed 11 sixes in the last two overs to etch his name into the record books, helping his side to post 186 runs in 20 overs.
Nizar’s side was struggling at 115/6 after 18 overs. Trivandrum’s senior bowler Basil Thampi came to bowl the 19th over, and Nizar took him down by smashing five consecutive sixes and scored 31 runs in the 18th over.
The drama didn’t stop there as Nizar turned on the beast mode for the final over, also as he smacked six maximums in the last over against Abijith Praveen, scoring 40 runs, including one wide and one no-ball.

A sheer carnage of the 28-year-old batter left his opponent dazed as he smashed 11 sixes in the last 12 legal deliveries and completed his half-century in just 20 deliveries. Nizar concluded the innings with an unbeaten 86 runs in just 26 balls at a blistering strike-rate of 330.76.
A total of 71 runs were scored by the Calicut team, which sets a new record in the KCL, and Nizar’s knock will be considered as one of the most entertaining innings in T20 by an Indian batter.
With the help of Nizar’s sensational knock, Calicut defeated Trivandrum by 13 runs and the batter was rewarded with Man of the match award.
Earlier this year, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) called Nizar for the trials ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, but didn’t get the chance to participate in the league.
