Among Amazon Prime Video's latest offerings is a thriller that many UK viewers may not have seen. However, some fans have heaped praise on it, revealing that it had them "glued" to their seats. Amazon Prime added a slew of new titles over the last few days, including well-reviewed series and underrated films. One of those is a Korean thriller/drama that fans have mixed feelings on, with some leaving overwhelmingly positive reviews and others being less convinced by it.

The Housemaid was added to Amazon Prime Video on Saturday, August 30, giving UK movie fans a chance to watch it. It received mixed reviews when it was first released in 2010 and currently has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 69%. TV fans might instantly recognise one of its stars, as Lee Jung-jae, the lead actor in Netflix's runaway success Squid Game, appears among the film's cast. The Korean film tells the story of deceit and revenge, and left some fans pretty impressed.

In the story, Hae-ra and her husband, Hoon, hire Eun-yi to look after their daughter. However, Hoon gets Eun-yi pregnant, prompting Hae-ra to attempt to kill the child.

Following that, Eun-yi decides to seek revenge for the betrayal. While fans had mixed reactions, some described the film as "so good".

One Rotten Tomatoes user wrote: "Great writing, acting, directing. A pretty accurate play on the awkwardness of being the help in a rich family and the power and class dynamics. It was a mix of a real-world thriller and elements of fiction/fantasty. Would recommend and watch again."

Another said: "I liked the fact that they twisted the story a little bit, not doing a copy of the original 1960 film."

A third shared: "Very intriguing film with a dramatic ending. You will be glued to your seat!" However, not everyone was a fan.

One negative reviewer called it "enjoyable but not overly satisfying". Another said: "Had heaps of potential, but quite disappointing in the end. The movie was set up for something quite profound, but just fell away at the end. Almost all the characters are incredibly loathsome, which doesn't help your engagement with the movie."

The Housemaid is among many new titles that have been added to Amazon Prime Video over the last few days. Subscribers in the UK can now also enjoy Blair Witch (2016), The Strangers (2008), Training Day (2001) and Divergent (2014).
