New Delhi: The latest episode of Bigg Boss 19 turned emotional as singer-composer Amaal Mallik shed light on his personal life. The Painda crooner offered his fans and viewers a rare glimpse into the dynamics of his famous musical family. The revelation was made during a candid chat with housemates Zeishan Quadri and Baseer Ali on Friday’s episode (September 5) and has stirred both surprise and intrigue among fans.

For those unfamiliar, Amaal is the son of composer Daboo Malik and the nephew of celebrated Bollywood musician Anu Malik. While Anu’s success in the industry has long been recognised, Amaal admitted that his uncle’s rise also created a noticeable distance within the family.

According to him, there was a time when Anu Malik had cemented his place in Bollywood far ahead of Daboo Malik, and this imbalance deeply impacted his father’s household. He recalled that during family functions or professional gatherings, Anu Malik and his children would not only avoid conversations with Daboo Malik’s side of the family but often refrained from even acknowledging their presence.

Opening up further, Amaal described his uncle’s personality with both admiration and honesty. He said Anu Malik had always been ambitious and relentless in pursuit of his goals. With respect, he noted, “Anu Malik has always been extremely ambitious and a go-getter… he’s a hungry lion who would make sure he would achieve what he had aimed for.”

Amaal further clarified that his father and Anu Malik continue to maintain contact. However, he admitted that the next generation, the cousins, are no longer connected and have remained distant over the years.

The confession left fellow contestant Gaurav Khanna visibly surprised, as he listened to Amaal recount the family’s struggles. Viewers, too, expressed curiosity and sympathy on social media, praising Amaal for his honesty inside the Bigg Boss house.
