Gossip mills suggested that the makers earned profit by selling the overseas, digital and satellite rights. Reports indicated that the film has already earned Rs 100 crore even before the release.

The masala entertainer is one of the few films that has already earned profit due to the sale of digital and satellite rights. ZEE Network has shelled a whopping amount to buy the satellits rights while Prime Video is the exclusive digital partner for the world digital premiere of Madharaasi.



"Madharaasi is expected to premiere on Prime Video after the four-week theatrical window is completed. South films usually release on OTT platforms after four weeks, which means the movie will be available for streaming in the first week of October 2025. Prime Video has shelled Rs 40 crore for the digital rights of Madharaasi, all thanks to Sivakarthikeyan's fandom," a reliable industry source told Filmibeat's Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit.

At a time when many films have failed to live up to expectations, Madharaasi surpassed the expectations by earning solid figures. It minted Rs 20 crore in the overseas markets on the first day.

Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Vikranth and Shabeer Kallarakkal played crucial roles in Madharaasi. The film has gained momentum in Tamil Nadu and other states during the weekend.

According to Cinetrack, Madharaasi's pre-sales in Tamil Nadu touched ₹4.5 crore from 385 tracked cinemas for Sunday.
