- Visit the National Food Security Portal (NFSA) website:
First of all, you have to visit the official website of your state’s National Food Security Portal – NFSA. You can search by writing your state’s name and ‘NFSA’ directly on Google, such as ‘Uttar Pradesh NFSA’ or ‘Bihar NFSA’. - Login or register new:
If you are already registered, then log into your user ID and password. If not, then you will have to first go to the ‘New User Registration’ (new user registration) option. In this, usually your Aadhaar Number and mobile number information has to be filled. - Find the ‘Update Mobile Number’ or ‘Ration Card Update’ option:
After logging in, on the website you will get ‘Update Mobile Number’, ‘Ration Card Details Update’, or any such option. Usually it can be found in ‘Citizen Services’ (Civil Services) or ‘Mera Ration’ section. - Fill the necessary information:
In this section, you have to fill some information to your ration card:- Your Ration Card Number.
- Aadhaar Number of Head of Family.
- Old mobile number (if it is).
- New mobile number that you want to update.
- OTP or Verify:
After entering the new mobile number, you will get an ‘OTP’ (one time password) on that new number. Fill this OTP in the box given on the website and click on ‘Submit’ (Submit) or ‘Verify’ (Verify) button. - Submit request:
After successful verification, the request to update your mobile number will be deposited. You can get a Reference Number or Application ID, keep it. - Check the status:
After a few days, you can check your request status (Status) using your reference number or ration card number on the website.
Generally, your mobile number gets updated within a few days. After the mobile number is updated, you will get all the information to your ration card, such as the information about monthly ration or any new scheme of the government, directly on your phone.
