' Kantara ' which stars Rishab Shetty and is also directed by him, released in cinemas on last Thursday, October 2. As the film completes its first week at the box office, it has broken several records, in India as well as the worldwide box office. The film has crossed Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office in the span of 7 days. Meanwhile, it has crossed Rs 400 crore at the worldwide box office, thus, beating the lifetime collection of 'Kantara' which released in 2022 and even 'KGF Chapter 1'.
The film had an opening of a whopping Rs 61.85 crore at the box office on day 1. It saw a drop on day 2 and overall in all languages made Rs 45.4 crore. But there was a jump again over the weekend. Within a span of 4 days, the film crossed Rs 220 crore which is huge. With this. With this, 'Kantara' is now in the top 10 highest grossing movies of the year. The film has surpassed Rajinikanth's 'Coolie', Vicky Kaushal's ' Chhaava '. On Wednesday, day 7, it has made Rs 25 crore. On day 8, which is Thursday, till evening, the collection is Rs 13.68 crore. It can be expected that the Thursday number might be lesser than the Wednesday number. The total collection now stands at Rs 329.93crore, according to Sacnilk.
Out of this, the Hindi version itself has collected around Rs 96-97 crore, thus it has beaten 'Raid', 'Sitaare Zameen Par' according to Box Office India . The first 'Kantara' had finished its Hindi version at Rs 80 crore and the second part has achieved more than that in just 7 days.



Despite the circuit being dominated by the original Kannada version of the film the Hindi version is also scoring very well in Mysore.
