If there is any mistake in your name, photo or fingerprint in your Aadhar card, then there is no need to worry now! UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has started an excellent online system, through which you can make necessary changes in your Aadhar card while sitting at home. This news is no less than a big gift for you!

The purpose of this new facility is to get rid of the long lines and hassles of Aadhaar centres. So let us know everything in detail about this new feature.

Why is the new portal special?

Earlier, if any change had to be made in the Aadhar card, you had to visit the Aadhar Center or Common Service Center (CSC) of the city. There were long queues, wastage of time and sometimes technical difficulties. But now UIDAI has launched a new online portal to say goodbye to all these difficulties.

Through this portal, you can send a request to update your name, photo or fingerprint from your home. This facility is especially a boon for those people who are unable to reach the Aadhaar center due to busy schedule or distance.

The easiest way to update photos

UIDAI always advises that if the photo of your Aadhaar card is outdated or the fingerprint is not working, then get it updated as soon as possible. Due to old photo or wrong biometric data, there may be difficulty in availing the benefits of government schemes. Many times even entry into examinations is stopped. Earlier one had to go to CSC for photo update, but now UIDAI has made this process very easy. Now you can do this through “My Aadhaar” mobile app or online website.

How to update photo from “My Aadhaar” app?

If you want to change your Aadhaar card photo, first download “My Aadhaar” mobile app. After logging into the app, select the option of “Aadhaar Update Online”. Submit photo change request here. After this you will have to go to your nearest Aadhaar Seva Center and get biometric verification done.

As soon as the verification is complete, your new photo will be updated in the Aadhaar card. This process is so easy that now you will not need to stand in the queue for hours.

How much is the fee and what are the rules?

According to UIDAI rules, only Rs 50 will have to be paid for updating photo in Aadhar card. Keep in mind that photos are always taken with a live camera. If you upload old photo or wrong image, your request may be rejected. Therefore, follow all the rules, so that your Aadhar card gets updated without any hassle.
