Decision after immense success of Apna Ghar housing scheme

The decision to launch additional flats came after the immense success of the ‘Apna Ghar Awaas Yojana 2025’. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) launched 152 additional flats under the same scheme on September 5, 2025 and all the flats were booked within an hour, said a DDA release.

In September, 76 MIG flats were put on sale in Lok Nayak Puram and 76 EWS flats were on sale in Narela under the housing scheme. The DDA attributed the success of the scheme to its well planned and intensive sales and marketing efforts under the aegis of Delhi LG VK Saxena, who is the chairperson of DDA.

The flats were launched on a first-come-first-served basis. The booking amount for an MIG flat was Rs 4 lakh. For EWS flats, the booking amount was Rs 50,000. The authority is expecting a revenue of around Rs 100 crore from the sale of these flats.

The housing scheme was launched on May 20. It offered 7,500 ready-to-move-in flats in Narela, Lok Nayak Puram, and Siraspur across all four income categories — EWS, LIG, MIG, and HIG. The DDA had extended the scheme by three months and is keeping it open until November 26, 2025.

In addition to this, the development authority also launched a premium housing scheme on August 26 targeting high-income group buyers trying to buy homes in prime areas of Delhi like Vasant Kunj, Alaknanda, Dwarka, Jasola, and Rohini. Registrations for this scheme’s e-auction ended on September 24.
