When Shah Rukh Khan’s elder son Aryan Khan decided to become a filmmaker rather than an actor like his megastar father, the decision left many people surprised.

Last month, Aryan proved all his naysayers wrong by making his directorial debut with the Netflix show The Ba***ds of Bollywood.

Now, one of the stars of the show, Rajat Bedi who made his big Bollywood comeback as “has been” Jaraj Saxena in The Ba***ds of Bollywood has opened up about Aryan’s decision to not become an actor like Shah Rukh Khan.

In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Rajat Bedi opened up about his first meeting with Aryan and why the star kid decided to become a director and not an actor, “Pehle din mein hi mujhe keh diya, ‘Sir, maine kuchh likha hai aur main kuchh cheez direct karne jaa raha hoon.’ Maine bola, ‘Tu direct karne jaa raha hai?’ Maine bola, ‘Beta tujhe poori duniya wait kar rahi hai, tu camera ke aage kab aayega, aur yeh kya kar raha hai?’ Woh bola, ‘Nahi sir, Papa jahan pahunch chuke hain udhar pahunchne mein, comparison aur yeh saari cheezein. But ab nahi, main thode wakt ke baad sochunga agar actor banna hai.’ (He told me the very first day that he has written something and is going to direct it soon. I asked him why he is becoming a director when the entire world wishes for him to become an actor. He replied that his father Shah Rukh Khan has reached such a position that comparisons are bound to happen and it won’t be good for his career as an actor. So, he’ll decide after sometime if he wishes to make his debut as an actor.)”
