Faisal Malik’s calm, grounded presence in Panchayat made him a household name but behind that quiet strength lies the story of an actor who has learned the value of patience and perseverance in an unpredictable industry. In a recent conversation with an entertainment portal, Faisal spoke candidly about his journey, the realities of being a working actor, and what fans can expect from the next season of the much-loved series.

Reflecting on his career so far, Faisal admitted that consistency in work remains a challenge for many actors, no matter how popular they become. He shared that his approach to choosing roles has never been about the scale of production or the budget. For him, acting is not about selecting projects but about being chosen for them. He explained that at this stage of his career, he still depends on opportunities that come his way rather than handpicking them. He further said that the focus is always on doing meaningful work, regardless of its size or scope.

Faisal emphasised that what drives him is the story itself. He believes a well-written script holds more importance than the length or prominence of his role in it. Even if a character appears in just one scene, he finds fulfillment in contributing to a story that resonates with him. He revealed that many of his past performances came from projects where he appeared briefly but felt deeply connected to the narrative. If a story excites him or feels authentic, he does not hesitate to take it up, no matter how small the role may seem.

Talking about big-budget films and their impact on an actor’s career, Faisal acknowledged that such projects help artists reach a wider audience but he believes that kind of recognition takes time. According to him, success in the commercial space doesn’t happen overnight. It depends on how audiences perceive an actor and how filmmakers come to understand their strengths over time. He feels that an actor’s journey is shaped not by their choices alone but by how others in the industry view and value their work.

Naturally, the conversation turned to Panchayat, the show that brought Faisal immense love from audiences across the country. Fans have been waiting eagerly for updates on the fifth season and Faisal shared that the writing process is currently in progress. The team is still developing the script and filming is expected to start soon. He said that once the shooting wraps up, it could take another year or more before the new season is ready to stream. He further added that the final release will depend on Amazon Prime’s schedule.

In his words, “Abhi toh shooting hoga. Shooting ke baad hi samajh lijiye, 1-1.5 saal. Abhi toh likh rahe hain kamre mein baith ke. Scientist ek saal ke baad hi script dete hain. Shooting agle saal ho jaayegi, par release Amazon Prime pe depend karta hain.”

Beyond Panchayat, Faisal recently appeared in the film Thamma, where he shared screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. His nuanced performance in the film once again showcased his ability to bring depth and sincerity to every character he plays.

Though Faisal speaks with humility about his career, his journey tells a powerful story of persistence and purpose. From small roles to memorable performances, he continues to evolve as an actor who values substance over glamour. With his grounded approach and unwavering dedication, Faisal Malik stands as a reminder that true artistry lies not in fame or scale but in the quiet pursuit of good stories and honest performances.
