Max Verstappen's estimated net worth has increased by almost £44million in the last year and now stands at just under £230million. Quote 500, a list of the wealthiest people in the Netherlands, ranks the Red Bull Racing driver at 264th place, up from 322nd last year.

Verstappen, who turned 28 in late September, remains the youngest on the list, an honour he has held since his first entry in 2022. Back then, he was the youngest ever member of the list, a record that remains intact three years later.

The Belgium-born Dutchman snuck in as the 500th person with a net worth just over £105 million, level with their cutoff that year. Verstappen has rapidly risen in the rankings since then, moving up to the 428th spot 12 months later and then jumping up 106 places last year.

The threshold to make this year's list is just under £123million. Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is one notable name not worth that amount.

Forbes listed Verstappen as the world's 25th highest-paid athlete this year, with earnings just shy of £59million. The majority of that comes from his salary and winnings, with £4.5million from endorsements.

Lewis Hamilton, however, is 22nd on that list, with earnings just over £60million. Despite his salary and winnings being significantly lower, at just over £45million, endorsements of £15million bump him up above Verstappen.

Reports from the Daily Mail in January claimed Aston Martin was willing to offer Verstappen a deal worth £750million to cover the rest of his career. The Dutchman responded at the time by saying "it's a lot of money" before adding: "Honestly, when I read that, it was the first time that I saw something like that."

He has since confirmed he will stay at Red Bull next season and has a contract signed in 2022 that extends until 2028. Reports at the time claimed that the deal paid around £40million per season.
