Vivek Oberoi is known for working for on a lot of causes apart from being an actor and now entrepreneur. The actor who will be seen next in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit' and Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Ramayana'. While he's working on both these films, he's back with another installment of 'Masti'. While fans are quite happy to see Vivek finally making a comeback of sort on screen with some really promising movies, in a recent interview, he's spoken about 'Ramayana' directed by Nitesh Tiwari which further raises expectations of fans.
He said that 'Ramayana' won't just be India's answer to Hollywood biggies, but the actor has decided to donate his fees for the film to Cancer kids. He said during a chat with Hindustan Times, "I told Namit that I don’t want a penny for this, I want to donate it to any sort of cause that I believe in, which is kids with cancer. I told him I want to support you because I just love what you’re doing and I think that this will take Indian cinema on the global stage with a bang."
Talking further about the film and his experience, Vivek said, "There is always the battle between whether Ramayana is mythological or historical, we believe it is historical, and it was great working on it. I was so happy and it was a lot of fun working with the whole crew, Namit, Nitesh, (actors) Yash, Rakul (Preet Singh). I still have a couple of days shoot left."
Vivek is reportedly playing Raavan's brother Vibhishan in the film. While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita. KGF star Yash will now be seen as Ravana in this movie. The film also stars Ravie Dubey as Laxman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Kajal Agarwal and Rakul Preet Singh as Mandodari and Surpankha among other actors.
Further elaborating on the scale of the film, Vivek said, "What Namit (Malhotra, producer) and Nitesh are doing is that through Ramayana, they are truly taking Bhartiya cinema to the global stage. Ramayana is going to be India’s answer to Hollywood epics. It helps that they are associated with a company who has won almost seven to eight Oscars in VFX, and they have already done such iconic stuff. To take in a truly Indian rooted epic, it can’t get bigger and better than Ramayana and to actually take it to the global sphere, that’s what’s exciting."
