Friday rush hour commuters have been stung with queues on the M62 this morning following a crash on the motorway.


National Highways have confirmed in a statement that a collision in the early hours of this morning resulted in a car being overturned.


Two lanes are closed.


The National Highways said: "M62 westbound within J11 (Warrington Birchwood) Cheshire LANES CLOSED 2 lanes (of 4) closed following an earlier collision resulting in an overturned car.


"Police investigation underway. 1.5 miles of congestion approaching scene."
