Winter Tips: Care of woolen clothes becomes a big problem in winter. It becomes difficult for woolen clothes to dry in cold weather. Apart from this, sweat, moisture in clothes or smell of closed cupboards are a common problem these days. In such a situation, you can adopt some easy home remedies to get relief from this problem. Know about those measures-
The simplest way to remove smell from clothes in winter is to hang the smelly clothes in strong sunlight for half an hour. The heat of the sun will remove the moisture. Then sprinkle a few drops of rose water on the clothes. Along with removing the odor, it will also add a light sweet fragrance, which will make the clothes look like new.
Baking soda is also very helpful in removing odor from clothes. It works like a natural deodorizer. Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda on clothes and leave them for 30 minutes, then dust or wash them. It completely absorbs the smell of sweat and moisture. If the smell is severe, you can leave it overnight, but do not try it on delicate clothes.
Vinegar is also a great solution. To remove the smell of clothes, mix 3-4 small bowls of white vinegar in a bucket of water and soak the clothes for 10-15 minutes. Vinegar is a disinfectant, which kills odor-causing bacteria. Then wash it normally and dry it in the sun.
If the smell of food remains in clothes, green tea is a better option. The antioxidants present in green tea eliminate bad odor. Make a cup of thick green tea, cool it and mix it in the last rinse water.
You can also adopt the old home remedy of camphor to protect the cupboard from bad smell. Keep a bundle of camphor or dried flowers and spices (potpourri) in the cupboard or box. With this, the clothes will remain fragrant for a long time, will be protected from insects and the wardrobe will also remain fresh.
Apart from this, you can also keep a bundle of coffee powder or activated charcoal in the cupboard, which will absorb both moisture and smell. It is especially useful for woolen clothes.
