New Delhi: Electric scooter manufacturer, River Mobility, have been recognised in the global platform, winning the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award 2025 for their flagship electric scooter, Indie. This win follows River’s Red Dot Design Concept Award 2024.

This makes them the only Indian two-wheeler brand to get accolades in both Concept and Product Design categories in back-to-back years. Made for versatile urban use, the Indie electric scooter offers a robust, while keeping a user-friendly design.

The Indie comes with an impressive 43 litres of storage under the seat and a further 12 litres of storage in the front compartment, making it the highest in its segment. It features a lock-and-load pannier that stays on the sides, allowing for customisable luggage solutions.

Making it more practical and safe are Safeguards, a unique protective design element that lessens damage in the case of a fall. The twin-beam headlamps and distinctive tail lamp design give the Indie an iconic look, while front foot pegs ensure safe and comfortable riding, along with better floorboard utility.

Talking about the design philosophy behind the award-winning scooter, Vipin George, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer, River Mobility, said, “Winning the Red Dot – Product Design 2025 and Concept Design 2024 awards validates River’s philosophy of rider-first design. Indie is more than a scooter; it’s a multiutility companion for the Indian rider. This global recognition reinforces our belief that great design is about addressing the real needs of the people.

The Red Dot Design Award is internationally known as a benchmark for excellence in design and innovation. Indie was selected by the jury for their functional design that hits the mark in combining variable transport solutions, protective features and everyday usability.
