Lucknow. An important step is being taken towards the development and traffic improvement of the capital Lucknow. Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is preparing a 250-km-long, six-lane road project named “Vigyan Path”. This route will directly connect Lucknow with Hardoi, Sitapur, Barabanki, Rae Bareli and Unnao.

According to LDA’s plan, Vigyan Path will prove to be not just a road but a new backbone of regional development. After its construction, the time to reach the capital from these districts will be reduced by almost half. At present it takes hours due to narrow roads and traffic jams, whereas in future people will be able to reach Lucknow in 60 to 75 minutes.

There will be relief from traffic jam,

Vigyan Path will have a six-lane structure, which will ensure adequate passage for both heavy vehicles and general traffic. According to LDA officials, it will be developed as part of the State Capital Region (SCR) by 2027. This will reduce the jam on the main roads of the capital and heavy vehicles will be able to pass directly through the outer routes.

20 development nodes are also proposed with this project, which will include industrial parks, educational institutions, health centers and business complexes. This will give new impetus to investment, employment and industrial activities in Lucknow and surrounding districts.

Name inspired by the slogan of Atal Bihari Vajpayee

This highway has been named Vigyan Path taking inspiration from the slogan of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan”. Officials say that this route will become a symbol of science, progress and prosperity. Special arrangements for environmental protection, solar lighting and green belt have been made in the design of the road, so that it can emerge as an eco-friendly corridor.

Steps towards making Lucknow a global city

This effort of LDA is being considered a big step towards making Lucknow a global city. The construction of Vigyan Path will facilitate regional traffic, expand the boundaries of the capital, and accelerate the development of educational, health and industrial facilities in the surrounding districts. Also, transportation of agricultural products and other goods will also become faster and simpler. Vigyan Path is not going to be just a road, but a path of development and modernity for Lucknow and surrounding districts.
