New Highway: A big step has been taken towards strengthening the road network in Haryana. The state is soon going to get three new National Highways, the construction of which has been approved by the Central Government. These highways will be built under the Bharatmala project and will provide better connectivity to different areas of the state.

Of these three new highways, the first will be built between Panipat to Dabwali, the second from Hisar to Rewari, and the third from Ambala to Delhi. The construction of these roads will not only improve the traffic facilities within the state, but will also facilitate connectivity with other states.

Ambala-Delhi Highway

The Ambala-Delhi Highway approved by the Central Government will be developed as a Greenfield Highway on the banks of Yamuna River. With its construction, the time taken to cover the distance between Delhi and Chandigarh can be reduced by 2 to 2.5 hours. This new highway will also be connected to the expressway being built from Panchkula to Yamunanagar, which will ensure direct and fast connectivity to Haryana apart from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. With this, the traffic pressure on GT Road will also reduce.

Panipat Dabwali Highway

The new Green Field Expressway being built from Panipat to Chautala village will also reduce the distance between Bikaner and Meerut. This highway will provide direct and convenient connectivity between Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, which will significantly benefit the trade, transportation and logistics sectors.

NHAI will prepare DPR

After getting approval for all three highway projects, the National Highway Authority (NHAI) will now prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR). After the DPR, the tender process will be started and the construction work will start in a phased manner.

Connectivity and development will get a boost

With the construction of these highways, traffic in Haryana will become easier, traffic on GT Road will reduce and direct connectivity of Haryana with states like Delhi, Punjab, UP, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh will be strengthened. With this, new opportunities for industrial development, agricultural trade and employment will be created.
