A Double Bottle Connection (DBC) is a facility that allows you to book two gas cylinders in your name at the same address. This can help you deal with the problem of sudden gas shortages.

In India, LPG cylinders are found in every household kitchen. LPG cylinders are the most essential and commonly used means of domestic gas consumption, but we have all experienced the problem of the cylinders used daily in our kitchens running out just before they are needed. Today, we are going to explain the solution to this problem: a Double Bottle Connection, also known as DBC. This is a facility for LPG customers that allows them to have two gas cylinders in their name at the same address.

What is a Double Bottle Connection (DBC)?

Double Bottle Connection (DBC) is a facility for customers that allows them to book two LPG cylinders in their name and at the same address, to address the problem of sudden gas shortages. As soon as one of your LPG cylinders runs out, you can immediately use the other and return the expired LPG cylinder for refilling. This facility is available at all gas agencies, including HP Gas, Bharat Gas, and Indian Gas. Customers can avail this facility from any gas agency with which they are registered.

Process to Book a Double Bottle Connection (DBC)

To book a Double Bottle Connection (DBC), you don't have to visit gas agency offices; you can register for this facility online. Here's the official link so you can register from the comfort of your home.

  • To avail of a double bottle connection (DBC), you may need several documents, including your Aadhaar card, gas book or consumer number, and a registered mobile number.

  • To obtain a DBC, you must pay an additional security deposit for the second cylinder. This amount may vary depending on the gas company (Indane, HP, Bharat Gas) and market regulations.

  • Customers can request a double bottle connection (DBC) by visiting their gas agency, where they will be asked to submit a form and provide necessary documents, such as their Aadhaar card, PAN card, and mobile number.

A second cylinder requires a lump sum payment, which includes the cylinder's security deposit, the cost of the first refill, and sometimes regulator or pipe charges. The total cost typically ranges from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, though it may vary slightly depending on the city and company. This amount is a one-time payment. After that, consumers pay the same standard refill price for both cylinders as for the first cylinder.
