Akshaye Khanna once got almost married to Karisma?

Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna is currently basking in the success of his latest film Dhurandhar. Amid this, fans have become curious about the unmarried actor's personal life.

A recent report by MoneyControl suggests that he was once on the verge of marrying actor Karisma Kapoor after her breakup with Ajay Devgn.

However, Kapoor's mother Babita reportedly objected to their union, leading to a different path for both actors.

According to the report, Kapoor and Khanna were close friends who developed a romantic relationship after her split from Devgn.

The report also states that Kapoor's father, Randhir Kapoor, was in favor of their romance and even approached Khanna's father Vinod Khanna with a proposal.

However, Babita reportedly objected to their union as she didn't want Karisma to get married while she was at the peak of her career.

Actor's stance

Khanna, who usually keeps his personal life private, has never spoken about this alleged romance with Kapoor.

The actor, who remains unmarried to this day, had once said in an interview with Hindustan Times that he was not marriage material.

He had said, "I don't see myself (getting married), I'm not marriage material... Marriage changes everything. I want full control over my life. When you share your life with somebody else, you can't have full control."

Actor's perspective

Contrary to his current views, Khanna had once said that he didn't want to be a bachelor all his life.

He had told HT, "I don't know. I hope not really...But I don't have any set image for the woman I'll marry...if I ever do marry, that is...she doesn't have to have black hair, beautiful eyes, that sort of stuff. As long as she's a great cook, I'll marry her."

Meanwhile, Kapoor eventually married the late businessman Sunjay Kapur (2003-2016).
