Road Accident in Greater Noida: Dense fog was seen from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Meanwhile, due to dense fog in Greater Noida, a major accident occurred on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. More than a dozen vehicles collided with each other here. Many of these vehicles were damaged. Many people were slightly injured.
Due to the accident, a long traffic jam was seen here. The damaged vehicles were removed from the incident site by the police using a crane. After the incident, villagers also reached the spot near Chakrasainpur police station area. The injured were taken out of the vehicle with difficulty. The effect of fog was also visible on the National Highway of Amroha. Here too half a dozen vehicles collided with each other.
Police and toll management personnel removed the damaged vehicles with the help of cranes. Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) Police Commissioner’s Office says that the police is present at the spot. Their investigation is ongoing. The residents of Delhi-NCR are surrounded by a blanket of dense fog. Due to this, there was low visibility on the roads. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 449 at 12 noon in Noida Sector-125 near the expressway. It is said to be in serious category.
Noida Police has made guidelines for the passengers in view of the fog. To reduce road accidents due to fog, speed has been reduced on major roads. Speed limit was also imposed on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Noida Elevated Road. The maximum speed limit for light motor vehicles (cars, jeeps etc.) on Yamuna Expressway has been fixed at 75 kilometers per hour. Whereas the speed limit for heavy motor vehicles (bus, truck etc.) has been kept at 60 kilometers per hour.
