Has PM Kisan’s amount reached Rs 12000?

Sameerul Islam had asked a question to which the government replied. Let us tell you that in December 2024, the Standing Committee of MPs had suggested that considering the current economic situation, the salary of farmers should be increased to Rs 12000 annually.

On this question, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ramnath Thakur has clearly said that no such proposal is under consideration of the government. That means, there is currently no plan to double the amount of PM Kisan. This has also put an end to the rumors spread among farmers.

Islam also asked whether registration of Farmer ID is necessary to avail the benefits of PM Kisan Scheme? On this, Thakur said that in the 14 states where farmer registry work has started, farmer ID has been made mandatory only for new registration under the PM Kisan Scheme. Thakur said that in states where farmer registry work has not yet started, farmers can register even without farmer ID.

Thakur also gave data of those farmers from the 14 states where the work of farmer registry has started, who have not yet registered for Kisan ID.
