NCERT has launched an online diploma course for science teachers of classes 6 to 8, aimed at familiarizing teachers with new and modern methods of teaching science.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched a special 40-week online diploma course for science teachers of classes 6 to 8 across the country. The last date to apply for this course is December 28, 2025.
This 40-week online diploma course is designed to familiarize teachers with new and modern methods of teaching science. The aim is to enable teachers to better understand new scientific discoveries and the foundations of the subject themselves, and then teach students more effectively in the classroom, so that children can understand all the important concepts thoroughly.
Course will be conducted through the NCERTX platform
This online diploma course has been specially designed and is entirely supervised by NCERT. The course will be conducted through NCERT's official online education initiative, the ‘NCERTX’ platform. Teachers can complete the course online from the comfort of their homes through this platform.
Course Name, Duration and Fees
The course is being conducted under the name “Teaching of Science at Middle Stage (Classes 6 to 8)”. The total duration of the course is 40 weeks. This course will run from December 29, 2025 to October 18, 2026.
The course will be entirely online and will require approximately 6 to 8 hours of study per week. The course fee is ₹2,000, which is a one-time payment and is non-refundable. Upon successful completion of the course and the final examination, an e-certificate will be issued by NCERT.
Who can apply?
- This course is primarily for in-service teachers. In addition, the following individuals can also apply. Science teachers of classes 6 to 8
- Teachers with a B.Sc degree
- Candidates with a diploma or degree in education
- Students pursuing teaching studies (pre-service teachers)
- Other individuals involved in science education
How to apply?
- To apply for this course, first visit the ncertx.in website.
- Go to the Pay Fee Online section and pay the fee of ₹2,000 online.
- It is mandatory to use the same email ID throughout the application process.
Within approximately one week of fee payment, you will receive an email from NCERTX with information about the further process. Follow the instructions given in that email to complete the enrollment process.
