Ghazipur.SP MLA Ankit Bharti has made a sensational revelation by writing a letter to the Chief Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Government, alleging huge irregularities in public welfare works in the district. It has been claimed in the letter that there was gross negligence and corruption in the installation and maintenance of high mast lights sanctioned from MLA funds in the financial years 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25.

Serious negligence in high mast lights

The MLA said that according to the rules, after the installation of the high mast light, the contractor agency is responsible for its maintenance for 5 years. But despite repeated complaints and orders, the faulty lights were not even repaired. In this matter, letters and reminders were sent on several dates, yet no action was taken.

Direct allegations of corruption on CDO

The letter also said that the Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Ghazipur deliberately delayed the works, ignored complaints and allegedly acquired movable and immovable properties through corruption. The MLA said that the quality of development works has declined during his time. It takes 5-6 months to pass the approved schemes, due to which there is anger among the public.

MLA Ankit Bharti has clearly demanded that in public interest, CDO Ghazipur should be immediately transferred and all his works and properties should be investigated at a high level during his entire tenure.
