Rithala Narela Kundli Metro Corridor: A major administrative hurdle that was persisting for a long time regarding the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor proposed under Phase-IV of Delhi Metro has now been removed. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved to allot Delhi Jal Board land to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for this project. With this decision, the way has been cleared for the construction of the important viaduct from Rithala to Rohini Sector-25.

Complete details of land allotment

As per the approval of the Lieutenant Governor, land will be given to DMRC on two different grounds. In the STP complex located in Rithala, 50 square meters of land will be given on permanent lease for 99 years. Apart from this, 1,286 square meter land will be allotted for the construction of viaduct on a temporary basis for a period of four years. This arrangement is expected to speed up the technical and structural work of metro construction.

DJB will get fixed payment

In exchange for the land, DMRC will have to pay a total of Rs 75 lakh 50 thousand 353 to Delhi Jal Board. Out of this, Rs 12 lakh 28 thousand 937 will be given for 50 square meter land given on permanent lease and Rs 63 lakh 21 thousand 416 will be given for temporary land given for four years. According to the conditions, DMRC will be able to use this land only for metro and viaduct construction.

Narela’s development will get a boost

According to officials, this decision will not only speed up the work of the much-awaited metro corridor but will also boost the overall development of Narela area. This will give new impetus to the plans to develop Narela as an education hub, major residential area and sports centre. Also, better public transport facilities will be available to the surrounding industrial areas.

Delhi-Haryana connectivity will be strengthened

A total of 21 elevated stations are proposed in the Rithala-Kundli metro corridor. This line will help in reducing traffic and pollution in areas of North-West Delhi like Rohini, Bawana and Narela. With the extension till Kundli, connectivity with Haryana will also improve and by connecting with the Red Line, it will become an option for uninterrupted travel in NCR.

Old obstacles now history

It is being told that this matter of land allotment was pending for a long time, but now after the approval of the Lieutenant Governor, the project has got new momentum. With this, the construction of one of the most important corridors of Delhi Metro Phase-IV will be progressed rapidly.
