Keeping Krishna and Ram Tulsi separately brings good luck, wealth, health and peace. It is a common practice to plant a Tulsi plant in homes and worship it. Tulsi marriage and offering Tulsi to Lord Vishnu is an integral part of Indian culture. There are two main varieties of Tulsi: Krishna Tulsi and Ram Tulsi. Krishna Tulsi is also called Lakshmi Tulsi at many places.
It is considered auspicious to keep Lakshmi Tulsi and Vishnu Tulsi separately in the house. This not only brings wealth and good fortune, but it also improves health. Apart from this, it removes discord in the family and also protects from evil eye.
It is natural that the question arises whether both the Tulsi plants should be kept at the same place. It is appropriate to keep Lakshmi Tulsi at one place and Vishnu Tulsi at another place. These can be placed in North-East, South-West, Brahmasthan or in front of the house. However, they should not be grown in the same pot. If these are kept separately and worshiped, then results will be obtained soon.
It is necessary to follow some rules while breaking the Tulsi group. Tulsi is considered a symbol of Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati, and Mahakali. It should be broken with respect. Basil should not be cut with scissors and should not be plucked in the morning or evening. While breaking the Tulsi group, one should chant Om Namo Narayan or Ashtakshari Mantra. One should not break Tulsi clusters by wearing slippers. An important thing is that Tulsi should not be offered to Lord Ganesha. It is auspicious to worship Krishna Tulsi and Lakshmi Tulsi by keeping them in the courtyard of the house.
