In Hinduism, Saturday is dedicated to Shani Dev, the god of karma and justice. Shani Dev is believed to reward or punish people based on their deeds. Devotees often perform special prayers and charity on Saturdays to seek his blessings and reduce life’s difficulties.

However, while charity is considered auspicious, donating certain items on Saturdays can have negative consequences according to astrology. These items are said to anger Shani Dev and nullify the merit of your donation. Here are the five things you should never donate on Shaniwar (Saturday):

1. White Items

White is associated with the Moon, which is considered an enemy of Shani Dev. Donating white objects like white clothes, rice, or milk products on Saturday is inauspicious and may attract Shani Dev’s displeasure.

2. Red Items

Red represents the Sun, and while the Sun is Shani Dev’s father, astrology considers them rivals in certain contexts. Avoid donating red clothes, red fruits, or other red items on Saturdays.

3. Yellow Items

Yellow is linked to Jupiter, which is described as Shani Dev’s enemy in scriptures. Items such as gold, brass, wheat, turmeric, and yellow clothes should not be donated on this day.

4. Plastic and Glass Items

Despite being common donation items, plastic and glass are directly associated with Shani Dev. Donating them on Saturday is considered inauspicious.

5. Salt

Donating salt on Saturdays is strongly discouraged. It is believed that this can invite financial and mental troubles and anger Shani Dev.

By avoiding these five items in your Saturday donations, you can ensure your charitable acts remain auspicious and blessed.
