Bhubaneswar: An alleged “Love Jihad” case reported in Kendrapara district of Odisha has created a stir in political and social circles. This matter has become a topic of discussion after serious allegations made by a Muslim woman against her own husband. The allegations include luring Hindu women into love by hiding their religion, getting them married and allegedly getting financial assistance in return. The police have started investigation on the basis of the complaint.

A case to alleged “Love Jihad” has come to light in Kendrapara district of Odisha. This complaint has been filed by a Muslim woman Farida Khatoon against her husband Saizuddin Khan. According to Farida Khatoon, Saizuddin lured Hindu women into love affairs by pretending to be unmarried and later married them. So far, the complaint has alleged that two Hindu women have been targeted.

Farida Khatoon, who is a resident of Nasdipur area of ​​Kendrapara Sadar police station area, told in the complaint given to the police that she was married to Saizuddin Khan, a resident of Jamdhar village in the year 2020. The couple also has a child. Farida alleges that Saijuddin left her about two years after the birth of the child.

Woman made serious allegations against her husband

According to the complaint, after this Saijuddin lured a Hindu woman into a love affair and married her. About a year later, he married another Muslim woman. Recently, about a month ago, he lured another Hindu woman into his love trap and married her. Farida alleges that in all these cases Saijuddin kept declaring himself unmarried, so that women could be deceived.

Farida Khatoon has also claimed in her complaint that some Muslim organizations allegedly provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh per marriage to Hindu women. She alleges that her husband received a total of Rs 20 lakh after marrying two Hindu women. However, the police have clarified that these allegations are being investigated and no conclusion has been reached yet.

A new twist in the case came when the father of a woman from Nagpur area also contacted the Superintendent of Police of Kendrapara. He alleged that Saizuddin lured his daughter to Hyderabad and married her.

Action will be taken after investigating the facts

Kendrapara Superintendent of Police Siddharth Kataria said that the matter has been taken seriously and all the allegations are being investigated on the basis of facts. He said that after the completion of the investigation, appropriate action will be taken as per law.

After this incident, resentment is being seen among the people in Kendrapara district. Local people say that such cases should be investigated impartially. Some organizations have also demanded the state government to make strict laws like other states. At present the police investigation is going on and the administration says that without confirmation any allegation will not be considered as the final truth.
