Run Away will soon be dropping on Netflix, once again giving subscribers their next gripping binge-watch. Author and executive producer Harlan Coben has been responsible for some of Netflix's biggest dramas in recent years including Fool Me Once, The Stranger, Missing You and Stay Close. Now, his next edge-of-your-set thriller is coming so before its debut, here's a full rundown of when to watch Run Away, who it will star and what Coben has teased about the drama.
The countdown begins until Harlan Coben's thriller Run Away drops with the series coming out on New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, on Netflix.
Run Away is going to consist of eight episodes in total with the show already listed as a limited series, meaning there are no plans for a second outing.
As with all of Coben's thrillers, Run Away stars a plethora of familiar British talent.
Cold Feet and Bloodlands icon James Nesbitt heads up this drama as troubled Simon Greene and is joined by Gavin and Stacey legend Ruth Jones as private investigator Elena Ravenscroft.
They are joined by Harry Potter and How To Get Away With Murder star Alfred Enoch as Detective Isaac Fagbenle, Good Will Hunting icon Minnie Driver as Ingrid Greene and Friday Night Dinner's Tracy-Ann Oberman as lawyer Jessica Kinberg.
Speaking about working with Nesbitt again, Coben told Tudum: "Jimmy just has so much range. He's so natural and authentic at all times.
"He's an empathetic actor in the sense that he feels, and then you feel for him."
Dad Simon Greene (played by James Nesbitt) has the perfect life until everything descends into chaos and questions when his daughter Paige (Ellie de Lange) runs away.
Six months later, Simon is able to track her down, only to discover that she's now a homeless drug addict.
But a violent encounter leads him to get involved in a dark underworld and find out unexpected family secrets as he continues to try and get his daughter back.
Speaking exclusively to Reach Plc, Coben teased that Run Away could be his most "jaw-dropping" drama yet.
"I think this is probably the most devastating final twist and literally at the end of the last episode, you'll think you have the answer, you'll think you have the answer and then boom, at the very, very end.
"There's one that will hopefully make your jaw drop and it will tug on your heartstrings I hope. Boom. You'll love it. I think this might be our most suspenseful.
"I don't like to choose between them [his dramas] but I really love this one, I can't wait. The early reaction has been incredible and I think once you start it you won't want to stop."
Run Away premieres on New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, on Netflix.
