ITV personality Liz Fletcher has opened up about her husband Kelvin's perfect partner, admitting she doesn't quite fit the bill.

The famous duo, who share four children - Marnie, Milo, Maximus and Mateusz - graced television screens on Sunday (December 28) with their Fletchers' Family Farm at Christmas special.

Whilst the family are known for managing their Peak District farm, they opted to escape to Tyrol, Austria over the festive season to sample alpine farming life.

The Achrainer family, who have a rich history in farming, welcomed them as hosts. In one segment, Liz joined the family matriarch Martina for a baking session.

Together they crafted Bauernkrapfen - or Farmer's doughnuts - making use of ingredients sourced directly from the farm, reports Cheshire Live.

Martina's expertise left Liz utterly amazed. "She doesn't measure anything, she just knows. She just feels, she just has a feeling," she remarked whilst observing the baking process.

Martina disclosed that local farmers' wives sell the doughnuts, producing approximately 500 of the treats in one go.

The culinary experience led Liz to own up: "I'm good at eating, not great at cooking. I do my best, I burnt the kettle once."

Later, the actress pondered her time alongside Martina, sharing with viewers: "That was so fascinating and it's so good to see that they have this real farmer's wife tradition. And they keep this tradition and they cook to celebrate."

She continued with a humorous confession: "Actually that's probably Kelvin's dream woman, a farmer's wife. But he got me and I can't cook."

The pair have known each other since childhood, first meeting at around eight years old. But it wasn't until they reconnected as adults in 2009 that romance blossomed.

They tied the knot in 2015 and have gone on to have four children together. In 2021, they swapped urban living for rural surroundings, embracing a new agricultural lifestyle.

Looking back on their time at the farm, Kelvin reflected: "What a year it's been. As we've reached our fourth year in farming, we've fallen for this way of life hook, line and sinker."

The Emmerdale actor continued: "But farming can be a bumpy ride and this year we've had some big challenges."

This year has proved particularly difficult for the family of six after a catastrophic fire ravaged their farmhouse.
