The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore has issued a notification for various faculty positions. This presents a significant opportunity for individuals seeking employment in this sector. The available positions include Assistant Professor Grade 1, Assistant Professor Grade 2, and Associate Professor.

Online applications are now being accepted. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website until 5 PM on January 9, 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 38 vacancies.

For the Assistant Professor Grade 1 position, the maximum age limit is set at 32 years, while for Grade 2, it is 35 years.

This recruitment initiative will fill Assistant Professor vacancies across several departments and schools, including Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Astronomy/Astrophysics, and Space Engineering. The Associate Professor positions are specifically designated for the School of Innovation.

• For the Grade 2 Assistant Professor role, candidates must possess a PhD degree with first-class or equivalent academic qualifications in the relevant field. These positions will be offered on a contractual basis.


• For the Grade 1 Assistant Professor role, a PhD along with a minimum of three years of teaching, research, or industrial experience is mandatory.


• Applicants for the Associate Professor position must hold a PhD in the relevant branch or subject, along with a first-class or equivalent degree in qualifications such as MTech, MDes, or MArch, and an excellent academic record. Candidates should have at least six years of teaching, research, or industry experience, including three years as an Assistant Professor.

• Assistant Professor Grade 2 (Pay Level 10): ₹1,37,578 per month


• Assistant Professor Grade 1 (Pay Level 12): ₹1,92,046 per month


• Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A2): ₹2,59,864 per month
