Delhi: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced its national team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. This mega competition will be played jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 7th February.

The command of captaincy is in the hands of Liton Das

Bangladesh has appointed experienced wicketkeeper batsman Liton Das as the captain for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Along with him, Mohammad Saif Hasan has been given the responsibility of vice-captain. The board is hopeful that Liton’s experience and leadership abilities will help the team perform better on the big stage.

Got place in Group C

Bangladesh team has been included in Group C, where its first match will be played against two-time champions West Indies on 7 February at the historic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. With the first three matches of the group stage being held in Kolkata, Bangladesh can get the additional advantage of understanding the pitch and conditions.

Big responsibility on youth in batting

Talking about the team’s batting, apart from captain Liton Das, important responsibilities will be on Tanjeed Hasan and Parvez Hussain Emon. Along with them, young batsmen like Tauheed Hridoy and Shamim Hussain will also try to strengthen the run rate of the team.

Bangladesh has both experience and variety in the bowling department. The fast bowling will be led by Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed, while Tanzeem Hasan Shakib, Mohammad Shaifuddin and Shoriful Islam will support them.
