Toyota Ebella EV: Toyota has today launched its first all-electric SUV, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, in the Indian automobile market. This car is Toyota’s first major entry in the EV segment, which is based on Maruti Suzuki’s ‘e Vitara’. Cruiser Abella has been introduced with modern design and strong performance. The company has also started its booking from today.

Battery pack and driving range

Abella EV has been introduced with two different battery options. The 49kWh battery variant is suitable for urban driving and generates adequate power. At the same time, the 61kWh battery variant will give an excellent range of 543 KM (ARAI) in a single charge. This car supports DC fast charging, so that it can be charged 10-80% in just 45 minutes.

Interior and modern features

Toyota has taken special care of safety standards in this first EV. 7 airbags have been provided for safety in all variants of the car. It has advanced features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking. It also features a 60-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The cabin of Abella feels premium and futuristic. It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and 10.1-inch digital driver display, ventilated front seats, 10-way electrically adjustable driver seat and reclining rear seats. It has a fixed glass roof which makes the cabin open and airy.

Estimated Price and Competition

Toyota has not announced the official prices yet, but its ex-showroom price is expected to be between ₹ 18 lakh to ₹ 25 lakh. In the Indian market, it will compete directly with Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and Mahindra BE 6.
