Haryana News: Strict action has been taken on alleged irregularities in the Food and Supplies Department in Kurukshetra, Haryana. Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rajesh Nagar has suspended the department’s Inspector Ravindra Kumar. Besides, orders have also been given for recovery of departmental gunny bags.
This action was taken on the basis of a complaint that came up during the Grievance Committee meeting held on Thursday.
Allegations of selling gunny bags and fake licenses
During the meeting, a complainant alleged that Inspector Ravindra Kumar sold the department’s gunny bags worth about Rs 12 lakh. Apart from this, an allegation was also made of getting a fake license of a depot holder.
Taking the matter seriously, Minister Rajesh Nagar directed the District Food and Supply Controller (DFSC) to take immediate action.
16 complaints on the agenda of the meeting
Minister Rajesh Nagar presided over the meeting of the Grievance Committee held in the new Mini Secretariat of Kurukshetra. A total of 16 complaints were placed on the agenda of the meeting, which included 7 old complaints.
Depot holder made serious allegations
Ladwa depot holder Sonu Narang complained to the minister saying that Inspector Ravindra Kumar had been transferred from Ladwa about a year ago, yet he did not hand over the charge of gunny bags to any other officer. It is alleged that during this period the entire gunny bag was sold.
Suspension and recovery orders
Taking immediate action, Minister Rajesh Nagar directed DFSC Naresh Kumar to suspend Inspector Ravindra Kumar and recover the gunny bag. The minister made it clear that any kind of irregularity will not be tolerated in the department.
Action has already been taken
It is worth noting that even before this, Inspector Naveen Kumar of the department has been suspended on charges of irregularities in the supply of ration depot and filing wrong reports. The investigation of that case was handed over to SDM Abhinav Mehta and instructions were given to register an FIR against three people including Inspector Ravindra.
