The opening of the Naga-Lachung route has seen a significant increase in tourist bookings.” He said that the tourism potential of North Sikkim is promising. The Taram Chu Bridge on the Lachen route is nearing completion. Will launch in February. Once it is operational, it will smooth the way for the complete reopening of Lachen and Gurudongmar lakes, says C Subhakar Rao. According to him, the number of tourists will increase. Because it is snowing there.

According to Sikkim administration sources, apart from North Sikkim, tourist bookings have also increased in West and South Sikkim. Sikkim currently accommodates 42,000 to 45,000 tourists per day in hotels, resorts and homestays. Plans have been made to increase the number of homestays as the number of tourists increases.
