Shriya Saran was born in Haridwar, Uttarakhand and grew up in a Hindi-speaking family. He spent a large part of his early years in Haridwar and then received Kathak lessons in Delhi. At the age of 17, he entered the world of acting. Shriya said, “It was a big step for me to start acting and move from Delhi to the South Industry. My father is an engineer and my mother is a teacher. It was challenging for my family too, but I felt that this is my dream.
While working in South Indian films, Shriya learned new languages and gained experience working on the sets.
