4 Tips to Avoid Aadhaar Card Scams: The Aadhaar card is one of our most important documents today. However, with its increasing use, cases of fraud related to it have also increased rapidly. A small lapse in judgment can put all your savings and identity at risk. Therefore, protecting Aadhaar-related information has become more important than ever. If you also want to keep your Aadhaar data secure and avoid falling into the trap of cyber fraudsters, then this news is for you. Today, we are going to tell you about 4 tips that you can follow to protect yourself from fraud, scams, or any kind of deception. Let's find out...

1. Use Masked Aadhaar

To avoid fraud and scams, you can use Masked Aadhaar. This is provided by UIDAI itself, where the first 8 digits of the Aadhaar number are hidden as 'xxxx xxxx', and only the last 4 digits are visible. This does not compromise privacy. It is also considered a valid ID proof.

2. Do Not Post Aadhaar Card Details Online

Sharing Aadhaar details on social media or other online platforms can be very dangerous. Even just a photo of your Aadhaar card can be enough for scammers. Therefore, unless it is absolutely necessary and the person is completely trustworthy, avoid sending Aadhaar information via WhatsApp, email, or any public website.

3. Do Not Share Your OTP with Anyone

A common method used by fraudsters is to ask for your One-Time Password (OTP). They call, message, or email you, claiming to be an employee of a bank, customer care, or a government department. Everyone should know that no genuine and trustworthy institution will ever ask for your Aadhaar OTP via phone, message, or email. If you share your OTP with anyone, criminals can misuse your Aadhaar. Therefore, you should never share your OTP with anyone.

4. Lock your biometric data

Biometric information is very sensitive personal data. If it falls into the wrong hands, the risk of scams or fraud increases. Therefore, it is crucial to lock your biometric data to prevent anyone from using it without your permission. This method significantly reduces the risk of misuse of your biometric information and protects your identity.
