Most Brits have already settled on their beloved Walkers Crisps flavour of choice, be it the timeless Cheese and Onion, something more adventurous like Thai Sweet Chilli, or simply the classic Ready Salted. But crisplovers are in for a treat as the brand has just unveiled a completely fresh and distinctive flavour.
Whilst Walkers has recently given their iconic appearance a makeover, with updated packets sporting a revitalised Walkers logo - marking the most significant packaging transformation in the snack giant's nearly 80-year history - the beloved crispsinside remain unchanged. That said, the brand continues to push boundaries with innovative and unusual flavours alongside their tried-and-tested classics.
From their Ketchup-flavoured variants to German Doner Kebab-inspired Max crisps, as well as seasonal treats like Emmental Cheese and Beef Wellington, Walkersregularly launches bold new flavours for customers to try. Though some certainly sound more experimental than others - but sometimes these end up being their most popular options.
But recently, several shoppers were left scratching their heads after discovering Walkers' latest Chilli and Cocoa Sensation crisps, which have begun popping up on supermarketshelves across the UK.
Posting on Instagram, user 'John's Snack Reviews', who often posts about new food releases in the UK, uploaded a snap of the intriguing new crisps he'd found on supermarket websites, expressing his eagerness to give them a go.
Sadly, they appeared to be sold out online, though John assured followers they'd hit supermarket aisles within the coming three weeks.
"NEW Walkers Sensations! Chilli and Cocoa!" he announced in the caption. He added: "Also returning is the lamb and mint sauce! These are on the Ocado website now!".
Shoppers were divided over the unusual new flavour, rushing to the comments section to voice their opinions.
"Very interesting, don't think I'll be trying though," remarked one person. A second user wrote: "Unique combo for sure.
"WTF Cocoa crisps are definitely not my cup of tea, so I've decided I don't like them before I've even tried them," someone else declared.
However, not everyone was deterred by the sweet and savoury combination, with one enthusiastic shopper responding: "love the sound of these".
Meanwhile, shoppers also shared their delight that the lamb and mint sauce flavoured crisps had made a return ahead of Easter, as it has previously been a popular seasonal flavour.
Both new crisp flavours are available now on Ocado, where they're reduced to £1.75 per 150g bag, down from the standard £2.50 price. Bear in mind though, there's a £40 minimum spend required when ordering from the online supermarket.
The launch follows hot on the heels of another recent discovery, as eagle-eyed customers have also clockedWalkers' Hot Honey flavoured variety hitting shelves, which crisp fans are desparate to try.
