New Delhi:  The 39th Edition of Surajkund International Atmanirbhar Crafts Mela has already begun in Faridabad, Haryana. A showcase of art, culture and heritage of various regions of India to be showcased under one roof.


This iconic festival celebrating the Indian craftsmen transforms the Sujrakund area into a living museum of heritage, textiles, handcrafted goods, art, folk music and regional cuisines, which take the spotlight. The grand mela celebrating beautiful Indian culture started this year on January 31st.

Held annually at Faridabad since 1987, this festival draws millions of people from across India and even abroad, for an immersive showcase of art and craftsmen.

Surajkund Mela 2026 highlights

Each year, the mela celebrates a different theme; this year’s edition is ‘Local to Global’, which is focused on giving Indian art and heritage the global recognition it deserves. Uttar Pradesh andMeghalaya have been named among the states of theme for 2026, with Egypt representing as the partner nation for development and promotions.


Daily performances and showcases by Indian and International folk artists can be enjoyed by the public at open-air theatres, known as Chaupals. Cultural evening programmes will also be held daily at the main chaupal.

Surajkund Mela 2026 ticket

The ticket price may vary on a weekday and weekend basis. For regular days, it is 120 per person, while on the weekends, ticket prices are Rs 180. Concessions are available for students and senior citizens upon the provision of an official ID. Entry for children below the age of 5 years is free.

How to book tickets:

  • Tickets can be purchased easily through the DMRC mobile app, which offers the fastest entry experience.

  • Selected Delhi Metro stations will also sell tickets during the mela period for visitors’ convenience.

  • On-site counters at Surajkund will remain open for walk-in ticket purchases.

  • Online booking is recommended, especially on weekends and busy days, to avoid long queues.

Nearest Metro Station to Surajkund Mela

The closest Delhi Metro station to Surajkund Mela is Badarpur Border, and visitors can also use feeder services from nearby stations like Tughlakabad and Sarai.


To handle the large crowd, 18 special buses have been arranged for the mela days. These buses run every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends. The first special service started from Ballabhgarh at 7:00 am on January 31.
