Forest Department officials have intensified monitoring across many districts in Telangana to trace the tiger, which was found near human settlements, with fresh pugmarks being traced in Arepally village, Siddipet district on Sunday.

Forest officials have strengthened surveillance measures to ensure public safety. Officials said that the tiger is moving northwards, leading to special patrolling in Siddipet, Yadadri, Karimnagar, Jangaon districts. Patrolling teams have been deployed along the route, to alert people living in the villages.

High-level review meet held to assess situation:

Tiger rescue experts from Pune have been deployed to assist in the operation, along with local veterinarians.

A high-level review meeting was held on Monday, chaired by Dr C Suvarna, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, to make an assessment of the situation. Officials said that if the big cat is captured, it would be done in accordance with National Tiger Conservation Authority (NCTA) guidelines.

Forest officials issue advisory to village residents:

Forest officials issued an advisory for residents of Koheda, Sanigaram, Arepalli along with villages of Thangallapally mandal. Officials said that they will issue official updates to prevent misinformation on social media platforms. Farmers have been advised against installing traps or electric fences, which could prove fatal for the animal. The tiger has reportedly attacked eight cattle since it was spotted.
