New Delhi. 12 candidates have scored ‘perfect 100’ in the engineering entrance exam JEE-Main 2026, most of whom are from Rajasthan. National Testing Agency (NTA) made this announcement on Monday. More than 13.04 lakh candidates had appeared in the first edition of this important examination.

Of the participants who have scored ‘perfect 100’ in NTA, three are from Rajasthan, two from Andhra Pradesh and one each from Delhi, Bihar, Odisha, Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Telangana. All these 12 candidates are boys.

A senior official said, “NTA scores are normalized marks that are designed to measure the same across question papers of an examination conducted in multiple shifts. These marks are determined on the basis of the relative performance of all the candidates who appeared for the examination in that shift.

The marks obtained by the candidates in each shift are converted into a scale from 0 to 100. NTA marks do not equate to percentage of marks obtained.” According to NTA officials, a central control room was opened to monitor and facilitate the smooth conduct of the examination.
