Students preparing for the SSC GD Recruitment 2026 exam have received a major setback. The Staff Selection Commission has issued a notification announcing the postponement of the exam. The exam for this recruitment was scheduled for February 23rd, but due to unavoidable reasons, it has been postponed.



According to the details provided in the notification, new exam dates will be announced soon on the SSC's official website, ssc.gov.in.



Self-slot booking will not be available.

The SSC has stated that candidates did not receive the option to self-book slots for this recruitment exam. The exam center and city will now be allocated by the SSC.



When will the city slip and the admit card be available?

The exam city intimation slip will be made available for download for all applicants 8 to 10 days before the SSC GD Recruitment exam. The SSC GD Admit Card 2026 will be released 2 or 3 days before the exam date. Candidates will be able to download their admit card or city slip online by entering their login details as soon as it is released.

A total of 25,487 vacant posts will be filled through this recruitment drive. The recruitment details by post are as follows:



BSF: 616 posts

CISF: 14,595 posts

CRPF: 5,490 posts

SSB: 1,764 posts

ITBP: 1,293 posts

AR: 1,706 posts

SSF: 23 posts



Exam Pattern

The SSC GD Constable Recruitment Exam will consist of 80 multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer will carry 2 marks, while each incorrect answer will result in a 0.25 mark deduction. Any question left unanswered will not be evaluated. The paper will consist of four sections, each containing 20 questions. Questions will be asked from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and Hindi/English.
