New Delhi: Google has announced the launch of the Pixel 10a in India, and this is a less expensive alternative to the Pixel 10 for the general population. By being placed as the most affordable device of the line, the new smartphone will seek to introduce high-end Pixel capabilities to more people without stepping beyond the Rs 50,000 price range.

The Pixel 10a is priced at Rs 49,999, and it continues the launch price strategy of the previous phone. Pre-orders are open today, and the device will be sold on March 6, 2026. It will come in four colour choices: Lavender, Obsidian, Fog and Berry. Launch offers will include Rs 3,000 cashback when purchasing with certain HDFC Bank cards, 24 months of no-cost EMI payments and a Rs 3,000 exchange bonus. Google has also provided the Pixel Upgrade Program for the phone, where customers can buy the phone at zero-interest EMIs with an assured buyback option at a monthly starting price of Rs 2,083.

Pixel 10a display and design

The Pixel 10a has a 6.3-inch Actua display with a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. Google states that it is the brightest screen ever on a Pixel A-series phone. The gadget also has thinner and even 4mm thicker bezels and a redesigned bumpless chassis that gives it a clean appearance.

It has IP69 dust and water-resistance certification and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The smartphone has a Google Tensor G4 processor and a Titan M2 security coprocessor under the hood. It comes with Android 16 and 7 years of updates to the OS and security patches, as well as frequent Pixel Drops.

Pixel 10a battery and charging

There is a significant improvement in battery life this year. The Pixel 10a will have a 5,100 mAh battery, which, according to Google, will be able to provide over 30 hours of use per charge.

The phone can work with 30W wired and 10W wireless charging. Wireless charging is still uncommon in this category, and this provides the Pixel 10a with an advantage over a number of mid-range competitors.

Pixel 10a camera

The Pixel 10a is equipped with a dual rear camera on the camera front. It comes with 48-megapixel and 13-megapixel ultra-wide and primary sensors, respectively. The front camera has a megapixel of 13 and has been installed in the device to allow selfies and video calls.

This model is emphasising AI-based photography tools that Google is highlighting. Individual features like Camera Coach give real-time shooting directions. Auto Best Take is able to perform a better job optimisation of group shots, as it can be used to choose the best facial expression even with up to 20 individuals. The tools are meant to improve daily photography without having to edit it manually.

Sustainability has also been highlighted by Google in Pixel 10a. The phone is made of 100 per cent aluminium and an 81 per cent recycled plastic back cover. It also uses recycled metals, i.e., cobalt, copper, gold and tungsten.

The Pixel 10a can be viewed as an enhancement of the performance of Google in the Indian competitive smartphone market in the mid-range segment with updated hardware, extended software support, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
