The Ranji Trophy final of the 2025–26 season has turned into a historic moment for Indian domestic cricket. The title clash between Jammu and Kashmir and Karnataka, being played at the KSCA Cricket Ground in Hubli, has put Jammu and Kashmir on the brink of a landmark achievement.

Playing their first-ever Ranji Trophy final, Jammu and Kashmir are just one step away from lifting the trophy for the first time in their 67-year history.

Jammu and Kashmir Dominate the Final

After winning the toss, Jammu and Kashmir chose to bat first and posted a massive 584 runs in their first innings. Karnataka struggled in reply and were bowled out for 293, despite a fighting 160-run knock by Mayank Agarwal.

Fast bowler Aaqib Nabi proved to be the game-changer, picking up five crucial wickets and handing his team a commanding 291-run first-innings lead.

In the second innings too, Jammu and Kashmir continued their dominance, stretching the lead to 477 runs by Day 4, with Kamran Iqbal remaining unbeaten on 94. Even if the match ends in a draw, the rules state that the team with the first-innings lead will be declared the winner—firmly placing Jammu and Kashmir in the driver’s seat.

How Much Prize Money Will the Winner Get?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced attractive prize money for the finalists:

  • 🏆 Ranji Trophy Winner: ₹5 crore

  • 🥈 Runner-up Team: ₹3 crore

This financial reward not only recognizes the players’ hard work throughout the season but also serves as a major boost for domestic cricketers.
