HYDERABAD Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has intensified the recovery of property tax with the end of the financial year. The authorities have decided to take strict action against old defaulters who have not paid taxes for years. If the owner does not respond even after receiving the red notice, the property is being sealed.

On Wednesday, GHMC officials sealed a shop in MCH Colony area of ​​Amberpet Circle for non-payment of property tax.

Senior officials directed the staff to proceed as per law in collecting taxes, especially on non-residential properties and those on which huge dues are due, as only 25 days are left for the end of the financial year.

The civic body has started a special drive. In Greater Hyderabad, tax is outstanding on 3.41 lakh Property Identification Numbers (PTINs). So far 74,732 red notices have been issued. Property Tax Snapshot
