Documentarian and authorLouis Theroux is back with his latest documentary now streaming on Netflix.


It is actually his first feature length film produced for the streaming platform, following a long career producing titles for the BBC. This time around, Louis is examining the so called 'Manosphere' and meeting some of the most controversial social influencers around.


They are known for sharing questionable views online as they claim to be teaching young men how to live their lives. One aspect shown is how far each of these influencers go to earn some money, with most of them raking in millions.

Who is Louis Theroux?

Louis was actually born in Singapore and holds both British and United States nationality. He's been making documentaries since 1998, when he made a huge impact on our screens with his series subtitled Weird Weekends.


At that time his subjects included televangelists, those who believe and were on the lookout for UFOs, the current state of the adult movie industry and 'prepper' survivalists who believed the end of the world was imminent.


Over the years, he has made documentaries focusing on celebrities and other prominent figures. These range from Jimmy Savile, boxer Chris Eubank and Joe Exotic, before he became the subject of a hugely popular Netflix series.


His documentaries have won two BAFTAs over the years, both for Best Presenter of a factual programme. He has also earned one Emmy nomination.


Louis has been married twice. He divorced his first wife , Susanna Kleeman, three years after they tied the knot in 1998. He has been married to his second wife, producer Nancy Strang, since 2012 and they share three children together.


He has said that he would not take on any subject for a documentary that would make his wife 'uncomfortable'. He said: "Clearly, I'm not going to do anything that's going to make my wife too uncomfortable" nor would he do anything that would involve taking "heavy psychedelic drugs."


What is Louis Theroux's net worth?

According to Reality Tea and Celebrity Net Worth websites, Louis Theroux's net worth as of 2025 was between $3 and $4 million. This is approximately £3 million.


They put this down to his earnings as a documentarian, author having written two memoirs and a broadcaster. He is the host of his own podcast which is produced exclusively for Spotify's platform. Although clips of episodes are also uploaded onto YouTube.


The now 55-year-old lives with his family in North West London. He did previously own a home in Los Angeles, that was reported to be worth around $1.2 million. Realtor.com claimed that Theroux was renting out the property back in 2014 for just under $9,000 a month. It has not been confirmed whether or not he still owns the property.
