After an explosive first season that redefined fitness entertainment in India, Rusk Media has officially announced Season 2 of its breakout reality format, Battleground. The high-intensity fitness reality show will return bigger and more ambitious, streaming on India’s leading free, premium, ad-supported video streaming service, Amazon MX Player, from April 2026 onwards.

Season 1 of Battleground emerged as one of the most talked-about reality launches on streaming. Built as a competitive fitness reality format, the show brings together aspiring athletes and fitness enthusiasts who compete in a series of physically demanding challenges, strategy-led tasks, and team battles designed to test endurance, discipline, and mental strength. The first season brought together 16 fierce contenders for a 28-day test of strength, strategy, and survival. Divided into four teams, contestants trained and competed under the mentorship of celebrated fitness and lifestyle icons, with cricketing legend Shikhar Dhawan leading as Super Mentor.

The response translated into scale. The debut season was also featured as a top-binged show on the platform and went on to receive recognition across industry award platforms such as being the “Most Popular Non-Fiction Show” at the IWMBuzz Digital Awards 2025 for its innovative reality format and strong digital engagement.

Season 1 also attracted marquee brand partnerships, including Honda BigWing, Charged, American Pistachio Growers, BigMuscles Nutrition, RiteBite Max Protein, PLIX, and Sparsh CCTV, reinforcing the show’s appeal as a high-impact platform for brands looking to tap into India’s fast-growing fitness and youth audience.

Building on that momentum, Season 2 raises the stakes further. This edition sharpens the format with an elevated competitive arc, intensified physical challenges, and deeper mentor involvement. The core idea remains rooted in discovering and shaping India’s next generation of fitness icons, while expanding the narrative into a larger, more culturally resonant spectacle.

Mayank Yadav, CEO & Co-founder, Rusk Media, said, “Battleground was always envisioned as more than a show. Season 1 proved there is a massive appetite for aspirational, competitive fitness storytelling done at scale. The kind of viewership, engagement, and brand partnerships we witnessed validated the format in a big way. With Season 2, we are going even bigger in ambition, in intensity, and in opportunity for contestants, audiences, and brand partners alike.”

Echoing the sentiment, Rahul Arora, Head, Rusk Ads, added, “Season 1 demonstrated that Battleground is not just compelling content but a powerful brand ecosystem. The response from advertisers and partners was incredibly strong because the show delivers both reach and relevance. As we step into Season 2, we are looking to bring more brands into this high-engagement environment and build deeper, more integrated collaborations that go beyond visibility to real impact.”

With a strengthened format, a growing fan base, and a proven track record of performance, Battleground Season 2 is positioned to consolidate its place as India’s definitive fitness reality franchise when it premieres on Amazon MX Player in April 2026.

As the arena reopens, the message is clear — the competition is fiercer, the stakes are higher, and the next generation of fitness icons is ready to rise.
