LPG Gas Connection: If during investigation two gas connections are found in the same house, then the oil companies can immediately temporarily close both of them. In such a situation, you will stop getting the new cylinder. To restart it, you will have to update your KYC.

LPG Connection: Today, due to increasing tension in the countries of the Middle East, there is a shortage of LPG cylinders across the country. There has been such a shortage of gas cylinders that there are reports of scuffles among people over it. If you have not one but two connections of LPG gas in your house, then this news is important for you. Often people keep double gas connection for emergencies, but you need to be careful about this. As per the rules of the government and oil companies, only one gas connection is valid for a family. If more than one LPG connection is found in the name of a person, the government can take legal action against them.

How do companies detect duplicate connections?

The country’s big oil companies like Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas are now using modern software systems, through which consumers can easily know how many gas connections they have. If more than one gas connection is found in the name of a consumer or at the same address, then this system immediately gives information about the same.

What action can be taken if two connections are found?

If during investigation two gas connections are found in the same house, the oil companies can immediately temporarily shut down both of them. In such a situation, you will stop getting the new cylinder. To restart it, you will have to update your KYC and close the extra connection. Unless you close a connection, your gas supply cannot be restarted.

Government can withdraw the entire amount of subsidy

If a consumer is availing subsidy on two LPG gas connections simultaneously, it is a violation of government rules. In such cases, the government can demand back the entire amount of subsidy already taken from you and can also recover it along with interest. Apart from this, future subsidies can also be stopped forever.

What are the rules to insurance?

LPG gas is an essential commodity, hence there are strict rules and safety conditions for its use. Accident insurance provided with gas connection is available only on that connection which is correct and valid as per government rules. If an illegal or unpermitted gas cylinder is found kept in the house and an accident occurs, the insurance company may reject your claim. In such a situation you will not get any financial help.
