Sindhudurg-Mumbai Flight | There is a big comforting news for passengers going to Talkonkan from Mumbai. The Mumbai-Sindhudurg flight service from Chipi Airport at Sindhudurg has now been cleared to continue seven days a week. A proposal to provide 100 percent ‘viability gap funding’ for this air service has been approved in the state cabinet meeting. Guardian Minister of Sindhudurg Nitesh Rane informed about this decision.

Due to the irregular flight service (Sindhudurg-Mumbai Flight) at Chippy airport, there was a lot of dissatisfaction among the passengers. Guardian Minister Nitesh Rane had consistently followed up with the Chief Minister so that the Mumbai-Sindhudurg flight service would be smooth. Finally, it has to be said that Nitesh Rane’s efforts have been successful. The state cabinet has approved the proposal to provide 100 percent ‘viability gap funding’ to the service at Chippy Airport to make it regular and financially viable.

Nitesh Rane said that due to this financial support of the state government, it will now be possible for the airlines to operate the flight service from Mumbai to Sindhudurg on a daily basis. This air service will benefit not only tourism but also in emergency situations. Not only this, this new daily service (Sindhudurg-Mumbai Flight) is going to be a boon for the workers coming to Konkan during major festivals like Ganeshotsav, Shimga, Diwali.

Another important aspect is that this decision of the government will speed up tourism, trade and local travel in Konkan. This will increase the number of tourists coming to Sindhudurga and the local hoteliers and private taxi drivers will benefit greatly. Thousands of tourists visit Sidhudurga every year. As road and rail travel is congested and time consuming, many travelers prefer air travel. Now the passengers have got a big relief as this air service will start every day.
