Brits over the age of 60 will want to head to one major supermarket to get 10% off their shopping. The offer is available on one day of the week and only applies to those who have signed up to the chain's loyalty scheme. Iceland is known as one of the UK's most affordable supermarkets, especially for frozen food. Shoppers go there for bargains, but many don't realise there are even lower prices on one day of the week.
Customers who are over the age of 60 and visit an Iceland store on Tuesdays can get a discount of 10%, as long as they are signed up to Iceland's Bonus Club. The offer is available in all Iceland stores across the UK. However, those who want to avail of it may be asked to present an ID to prove they are over 60. This could be a Senior bus pass, a driving licence, or a Senior railcard.
Iceland is mainly known for its frozen foods, such as whole meals as well as frozen meats, chips, vegetables and desserts. Iceland also stocks affordable confectionery, fresh fruit and vegetables, and household essentials like washing-up liquid and washing detergent.
Iceland has more than 900 stores across the UK, according to its website, making it one of the major supermarket chains in Britain.
The Bonus Club offers customers regular rewards and bonuses. Members can preload money onto their Iceland Bonus Club app and use it for in-store purchases.
For every £20 they top up, they get £1 from Iceland. As well as discounts on shopping, there are a range of other benefits for those who sign up.
Customers who are members of Iceland's Bonus Club receive ever-changing rewards. Current offers for members include 15% off tickets to Alton Towers Resort, a free 14-day trial to Ancestry, 40% off breakdown cover and 45 free photo prints.
Customers can simply sign up for a Digital Bonus Club Account online at iceland.co.uk/bonuscard, or register through the Bonus Club App.
Then, shoppers over 60 can present their Bonus Club card and a valid ID at their local Iceland store on a Tuesday to receive the 10% discount. The supermarket says its customers aged 60 or over save an average of £120 per year with the deal.
